Frightening layout for CE daily

Hi everyone and Happy Halloween..
I'm here today to share a "Frighteningly awesome" layout I created as my design team project for Creative embellishments using those scary zombies in the Creative Embellishments store.. I am totally in love with them..LOL
Here is the layout I created:
We here in Finland don't celebrate Halloween like we used to in the States, so I actually found an old photo of my friends and I getting ready to go out trick-or-treating and attached that to this layout.. But Unfortunately, not everyone wants their face all over the internet, so I decided to share my layout without the actually photo attached :)
How about some close ups and details:
I started off with a green piece of cardstock that I stenciled spider webbing to and then used a white gel pen to add the white lines of the webbing..  adding small details with a stamps and then paint splatter..

I painted my zombies with green paint and then finished them off with black paint.. I thought they looked better with clothes on..LOL  and these wood veneer spiders are so creepy, I decided to paint them yellow to go with my color scheme..

I wanted to create a whimsical style title to my layout, so added lots of layers and then attached the title to one of the zombies..

and finally my creepy tree branch with the spider..

Thanks for checking out my layout.. till next time..

Spook-tacular wall art -CE daily

Hi fellow crafters..
I'm here to share a spook-tacular wall art frame I created as my design team project for Creative Embellishments, from an old frame I had found at a thrift store for a couple of bucks..
I think it measures about 6" x 15" and I had a blast covering the whole thing with lots of Halloween themed goodies..
Here is what I created:
I started my project by painting the frame black and then rubbing some silver inka-gold paint on it to get that higher bits to pop..
then created the background using cheese cloth and several stencils, texture paste and sprays.. I also used lots of the Lindy's pigment powders.
How about lots of close ups and some details:
Here you can see all of that fun texture the cheese cloth created..
I  added a flourish to top corner of the frame along with that light and spider.. Funny how the spiders tend to come out of hiding during Halloween :)   I  also added lots of purple micro beads and some art stones, which I then sprayed with turquoise spray.
for the bottom of the frame, I added lost of flowers, spider webbing, pumpkin and spiders..
Some of the spiders I covered with 3D gloss gel and the covered it with micro beads..
This is my favorite spider.. I added some of the art stones to look like spider eggs.. Super creepy..LOL
and that is my creepy Halloween themed re-purposed frame, which I had so much fun creating.. Looks like a lot of work but it was really super simple.. just adding layers and colors :)
Thank you so much for stopping by and checking out my project..
Till next time

I'm mad about you- CE daily

Hi fellow crafters...
Because I absolutely love Halloween, I wanted to share a fun Halloween themed layout I created as my design team project for Creative embellishments, *using some photos of my son Aaron (age 24) and of course using some of the fabulous "horrifying"  chipboard elements from the Creative Embellishments store.. Here is the layout I created:
I started off with just a plain piece of white cardstock and added some brick to the background using a stencil and distress ink.
I pained my chipboard elements with acrylic paint which I mixed myself to get the colors I wanted, lime green and a dark orange.  The black chipboard pieces I inked with Archival ink in black.. adding some white paint dots for detail..
for the bubbles/foamy pieces, I used the bubbles chipboard pieces, I actually layered some and gave my bubble/foam a set of eyes. LOL
The title to my layout I created myself using my silhouette cameo and cardstock colors to match my layout..

for the potion bottles, I painted them with acrylic paint and then added paint splatters to match my theme.. attached them to my layout using foam tape..
I love the book chippies.. I wanted to create like a stack of books for spells and potions etc to go with my theme.. I also loved gears, so of course those needed to be added to my layout. The Gears background panel is great for a cluster of gears, which is what I used..
I tucked the bubble pieces under my photos and finally added lots of paint splatter to may layout in various colors to match my theme..
Thank you for stopping by and taking a look at my layout.. Till next time
