Die cut reveal- BIRD S.O.U.S

Birds, birds, birds.. its what our die cut challenge for this week is over at Stuck On U Sketches.. I've been enjoying creating layout for my daughters album of her and her horse..  She had posted some photos of him a few days ago eating a bunch of Dandelions and he looked so cute with this mouth all stuffed with flowers..
I know she had to cross the street with him to get him over the big field and I got the idea of the road and fields from her story..  I think the layout came out super fun..

all of the cuts I found in the Sil store.. except for the title which I created myself..

How about some close ups and details:

love the little birdies sitting on top of the title..

added some touches of white dots with a marker.

I embossed the fence, added a cute heart banner to it, butterflies, flowers and acorns..

Recycle it- Whimsical Designs reveal

I absolutely love to recycle items around my house.. As a crafter, I'm always keeping an eye out for boxes, cans and toilet paper rolls even, the creative side of my brain is always switched on..  This weeks reveal for Whimsical Designs is a recycle project.  We were asked to recycle something that we would normally throw away.  I chose to make a toilet paper roll mini album, which I haven't created one in a real long time.  I had loads of fun with this one and what better way to spend a sunny Sunday than in the crafting room..LOL
I was able to save 5 rolls of tp before my doggy got them, he likes to craft as well by chewing them up all over my floor..
I'm just so excited sharing this with you, I absolutely love how pretty it turned out.. I give all my thanks to my Silhouette Cameo.. I took this paper collection and scanned the papers, which made it so easy to use the prints to design the elements in the Silhouette Design edition.

After 12 hours of labor (LOL), here is what I ended up:
Love love the colors I decided to use.. its the sunshine collection by My Minds Eye..

my chunky tp mini..Luv it!!

Here's some close ups and a short 5 min video talking you through the mini.. I cracked myself up so many times cause of the mistakes I kept making.. but bloopers are great, just shows how silly I really am in real life!! LOL

Pg's 1 and 2

Pg's 3 and 4

Pg's 5 and 6

pg's 7 and 8..

oh, the video.. Its not the best quality, but I'm no pro..LOL  lets see if I can get that posted here:

Our sponsor for this weeks challenge is Inky Impressions with a $10 gift certificate to their store up for grabs!!

For supplies used to create this tp roll mini:

5 toilet paper rolls
Papers by: My Minds Eye "sunshine" collection

Silhouette Cameo:
Elements " flowers, butterflies, birds, bird cage, fence, scalloped squares, tabs, street lamp and sayings that were not stampped"

Sentiment stamps by: Whimsical Designs
foam tape
gold liquid pearls
inks: vintage photo
Martha Stewart Leaf punch
binder rings
Extra wide eyelets: My Memory keepers

And there ya have it... This only took me 12 hours to complete, that does not include the time it took to cover the rolls with paper and flatten them.  I did that all the day before I actually decorated it..

I hope that I have inspired you to go get your rolls out of the trash and get your scrap on..and if you do,please come stop by Whimsical Designs and share your project with us girls, cause we'd love to come by and check it out..
With that said, I want to thank you all so much for taking the time and stopping by my blog today and checking out my recycle project for WD..

Sketch reveal-SOUS 5.24

TGIFridaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaay...
Its sketch reveal for us girls over at S.O.U.S again today and this weeks sketch was created by our very own Leah.. I bought a 6x6 stack by My Minds Eye from Michael's last fall and I loved the colors and prints in the collection.  I didn't want to use them since they'd be all gone.  So,  then I decided to scan the entire paper collection, imported the prints to the Silhouette Design Edition and finally printed the papers to create this layout.. I was able to take 6x6 papers and create this 12x12 layout..

I am trying to create more with colors that I normally don't use.. and this color combo is definitely one of them..LOL  I don't have photos for this layout since I almost ran out of ink after printed everything.. I will add photos of my daughter and her horse "Tulipo" ..

I have some close ups and details for you:

Inspired by a Song- Whimsical Designs reveal..

Happy Hump Day ladies..
I'm always so happy to post on a Wednesday since we all know its one day closer to Friday and the weekend..LOL
So, with that said... Us girls over at Whimsical Designs were asked to create a project that is "inspired by a song!"... Now, this one really took me for a loop since I normally listen to either Heavy Metal or Rock-n-Roll and just could not brain storm a title for a layout...But, for some reason this title popped in at the last minute and I decided to scrap my older fur ball..
So, this is what I came up:
the papers are by Cosmo Cricket and its a digital kit I had bought.. I love love love the colors cause its not my normal color combo that I scrap with, I tend to stick with the softer color tones..LOL

Here's a few close ups and some details:

The title I created myself with some free fonts.  The paw prints are a free SVG I found on pinterest. These were both cut using the SIL software..

the birds are from the SIL online store and I took one of the sentiment stamps by Stephanie and stamped around the circle..

The cute little puppies and bowl are from the Create a Critter cartridge by Cricut..

The doggy house and bones are also from the Create A Critter cartridge..

For supplies used:

Silhouette Cameo
Cricut Imagine

Create A Critter cartridge:
dogs, food bowl, bones and dog house

free fonts and svg: paw prints

Cricut craftroom and SiL software

White and blue cardstock

Digital paper kit by Cosmo Cricket

FLOWER die cut reveal-SOUS

Summer is finally here at the North Pole.. Its been so sunny, warm and absolutely beautiful outside, its been so hard to pry myself away from the back yard patio long enough to get some projects done..LOL
and speaking of projects.. This week for SOUS, our very own Leah chose our die cut challenge and its so summer appropriate, FLOWER..
Create your own die cut flower and let me tell you, there are millions of flowers to choose from.. I decided to create a card for today's reveal and here it is:

I used some of the papers from Prima's 6x6  Botanical collection.  The card measures 6x4..
Had lots of fun using my Tim Holtz Tattered Florals die and my little green monster, the cuttlebug..

Here are some close ups and some details:
The sentiment is by Fiskars "Friends forever quotes!"..  I used StazOn black ink cause it makes the image so clean..
the tiny maroon flowers are a Fiskars punch and the cream colored flowers are the small flowers from the Tattered Florals die..

As are the big flowers,  I also added some gold liquid pearls, orange distress stickles and a black key to the card..

For Supplies used:

Tim Holtz Tattered Florals die
cuttlebug
Fiskars flower punch

papers by: Prima "Botanical" collection
Gold liquid pearl

Mixed Media reveal-Whimsical Designs..

Happy Hump day ladies..
I'm so glad its already Wednesday,  that means only two more working days till the weekend and I get to relax and maybe get a my scrap on..  and speaking of crafting, Stephanie from Whimsical Designs asked us to create a Mixed Media project for todays reveal and I will be the first one to admit this was definitely a challenge.. I have only done mixed media project before and its been about a year or so ago.. But, after watching some how to videos, I think I got the hang of it and decided to create a card..
I grabbed some paints, white cardstock, a few stamps and then some stickles..
once I had everything painted, stamped and stickled, I took a fine tip black marker and added some details..

I have some close ups for ya:

For supplies used:

White cardstock
paints by: Ranger

Image stamps: various retailers
Sentiment stamp: Whimsical Designs
StayZon ink: black

Stickles: green, blue and pink
white and black marker

Well fellow crafter's, there ya have it.. One of my very first mixed media projects.. I might venture into this again, but not sure its really my thing, but like with trying anything new, the more you keep at it the better they get.. I do need to invest into more stamps..LOL

Sketch reveal SOUS

YIKES!! I'm late posting today.. Yesterday was a holiday here in Finland and I kept thinking today was Monday..LOL  So, I'm going to spare you with lots of text and just get to the good stuff..
Leah designed today's sketch and yes, it was a handful but I had LOADS of fun creating this layout.  I wanted to think outside of the sketch and thought how cute to add a train onto the top of the layout..
and with that said, here is my take on Leah's sketch:

The papers are Echo Parks' Bundly of Joy-Boy and the die cuts were all cut using my Cameo..

Hows about a few close ups:

my favorite.. The cute little train..

Here you can see how its all pop dotted off of the page.. love the look!

The three men in my life.. LOL  of how I miss them being so small..

Thought the bottom corner could use a little something something and so added the train tracks with the grass..

for supplies used:

Silhouette Cameo
Silhouette design edition

white cardstock

digital kit by : Echo Park
"bundle of joy-boy!"

foam tape

Wow, is that all I really used?   That list just seems way too short..LOL

I'm submitting this to the following challenges:

but with those famous last words, I want to thank you for stopping by today and checking out my take on the sketch for SOUS.. Stop by and check out what amazing layouts our design team has created..

Alter It- Whimsical Designs reveal

Hope everyone got lots of crafting done last weekend..  Us girls were asked to create an Altered Item for today's reveal for Whimsical Designs
I got a cute little project done that I've been wanting to create for what seems like forever..  I have a cat and the food I buy for him, are little single serving pouches that comes in a card board style boxes.. nice and heavy, perfect for crafting..  I also don't have any place to store my in coming mail.. "The light bulb above my head blings on!" ... I could take one of these cat food boxes and use it for my in-coming mail...Eureka!
and with that.. This is what I came up with:

The before:

and the after:

I used some of my Glitz "Happy Trails!" papers..
Had those for some time now and decided it was time to put them to good use..
Love those colors by the way..

I have some close ups for you..

I used my Martha Stewart butterfly punch to create the butterflies.. punched twice and glued one on top of the other.. adding some white liquid pearls in the middle of the wings..

I hand cut the banners and then the letters are a free font and cut that with my Cameo.

I was looking through some of the stamps I got from Stephanie and thought this was a perfect sentiment for this box..

We also have a great sponsor this week, do stop by V's Sweet Ideas
and check out what fabulous images await you..

For supplies used on this project:

Papers by: Glitz designs
brown cardstock
empty box
Martha Stewart butterfly punch
Martha Stewart Edge punch
foam tape
white liquid pearls
Twine
*and finally
Sentiment stamps by Whimsical Designs
